Background information about 'Paradise Lost (Re-Release)'
This remastered edition of Cirith Ungol's legendary 1991 opus "Paradise Lost" stands as a towering monument to American heavy metal at its most uncompromising. The album captures the band at their creative peak, delivering nine tracks of crushing doom-laden metal that bridges the gap between traditional heavy metal and the emerging doom scene. From the anthemic opener "Join The Legion" to the epic eight-minute journey of "Chaos Rising", every song showcases Tim Baker's distinctive vocals soaring over the band's signature blend of crushing riffs and mythological themes. The Michael Whelan artwork perfectly complements the album's dark fantasy atmosphere.
The remastered sound brings new clarity to Robert Garven's thunderous drumming and the dual guitar assault, while maintaining the raw power that made the original so compelling. Tracks like "Heaven Help Us" and the title track "Paradise Lost" demonstrate the band's ability to craft both crushing heaviness and memorable melodies. This European reissue on Metal Blade Records ensures that this essential piece of American metal history remains accessible to new generations of metalheads who demand authenticity and power in their music.
