Background information about 'Dawn Of The Axe'
Cruel Force delivers a devastating assault on "Dawn Of The Axe", an album that stands as a testament to the enduring power of old-school extreme metal. This German outfit has crafted nine tracks of pure sonic brutality that bridges the gap between blackened thrash and traditional heavy metal with remarkable precision. The album opens with "Azrael's Dawn" and immediately establishes its apocalyptic atmosphere, while tracks like "At the Dawn of the Axe" and "Night of Thunder" showcase the band's ability to blend crushing riffs with memorable hooks that'll have you headbanging from start to finish.
The production on "Dawn Of The Axe" strikes that perfect balance between clarity and rawness that makes every guitar lick cut through like a blade. Songs such as "Death Rides the Sky" and "Devil's Dungeon" demonstrate Cruel Force's mastery of dynamic songwriting, shifting seamlessly between blistering speed and mid-tempo crushers. The album's journey through tracks like "Watchtower of Abra" and "Across the Styx" creates an epic narrative that culminates with the crushing finale "Realm of Sands". This is metal that doesn't compromise – it's fierce, unrelenting and absolutely essential for anyone craving authentic extreme metal.
