Background information about 'None So Vile'
In their sophomore release 'None So Vile', CRYPTOPSY elevated the art of death metal to a new level of extremity and technical prowess. The album opens with "Crown of Horns", setting an unrelenting pace that is carried throughout. Lord Worm's vocals are as guttural as ever, delivering lyrics that blur the line between sacred and profane with theatrical flair. "Slit Your Guts" and "Graves of the Fathers" showcase the band's ability to balance brutality with complex compositions, thanks to Jon Levasseur's intricate guitar work.
The drumming by Flo Mounier remains a standout, particularly on tracks like "Dead and Dripping" where his blast beats drive the chaos forward. The closing track, "Orgiastic Disembowelment", leaves listeners in awe with its relentless riffing and searing solos—a testament to CRYPTOPSY's mastery over their craft. Celebrated by fans and critics alike, 'None So Vile' is often cited as one of the greatest death metal albums of all time, earning it a place in Decibel Magazine's Hall of Fame.
