Jewelcase CD, 12 page booklet.

Background information about 'Ungentle Exhumation'

Before they became the revered titans of the technical death metal scene known today, Cryptopsy was merely a whisper amidst the Canadian underground. With 'Ungentle Exhumation,' their debut demo released in 1993, Cryptopsy laid down the unholy blueprint that would redefine death metal. This raw offering captures the primal vigor of a band about to erupt onto the scene. "Gravaged: A Cryptopsy" showcases Lord Worm's piercing shrieks and guttural roars, while Flo Mounier's drumming on "Mutant Christ" is a ferocious display of technical prowess. The demo is both a testament to their origins and a prelude to their groundbreaking future.

'Ungentle Exhumation' offers fans a glimpse into the embryonic stages of Cryptopsy's evolution. The tracks contained within pulse with an energy that is both chaotic and calculated, giving rise to what many would later hail as iconic moments in extreme metal history. For admirers of SUFFOCATION, DYING FETUS, NILE, and DEATH, this reissue offers not only nostalgia but an opportunity to experience how it all began with an aesthetic that is unapologetically brutal yet masterfully refined.
