About the album

Before they became esteemed JUNO Award winners, Cryptopsy was a whisper among the Canadian underground. With 'Ungentle Exhumation,' recorded as a five-piece in 1993 after a series of lineup changes and name-changes, the band laid down the blueprint for their blasphemous debut full-length. This demo captures the raw energy and technical prowess that would catapult them to death metal legend status. The hair-raising screeches and brutal barks of Lord Worm split open "Gravaged: A Cryptopsy," while Flo Mounier's drumming precision drives "Mutant Christ." This release presents an unfiltered glimpse into the nascent stages of one of technical death metal's vilest acts. For enthusiasts of Suffocation, Dying Fetus, Nile, and Death.
