Background information about 'Love Like Blood'
Dool delivers a powerful statement with "Love Like Blood", a mesmerizing 10" release that showcases the Dutch band's ability to blend haunting melodies with crushing heaviness. This collection features their striking interpretation of Killing Joke's classic "Love Like Blood", transforming the post-punk anthem into something entirely their own through Ryanne van Dorst's ethereal yet commanding vocals and the band's signature atmospheric approach. The track demonstrates Dool's masterful ability to honor the original while injecting their own dark, gothic sensibilities into every note.
The release is completed by two electrifying live recordings from Rock Hard Festival - "She Goat" and "In Her Darkest Hour" - that capture the raw energy and magnetic stage presence that has made Dool one of the most compelling acts in the contemporary gothic rock scene. These live cuts showcase the band's dynamic range, from whispered intimacies to thunderous crescendos, proving that their studio prowess translates seamlessly to the stage. The combination creates a perfect snapshot of a band at the height of their creative powers, bridging their studio artistry with their captivating live performances.
