Background information about 'Danzig III: How The Gods Kill (RSD Exclusive)'
When Danzig unleashed "Danzig III: How The Gods Kill" in 1992, they delivered what many consider their magnum opus – a thunderous masterpiece that perfectly captured Glenn Danzig's vision at its most potent and uncompromising. This third studio effort saw the band pushing their sound into darker, more atmospheric territories while maintaining the crushing heaviness that made them legends. The album opens with the iconic title track, a brooding epic that builds from whispered menace to full-blown sonic assault, showcasing Danzig's incredible vocal range and the band's tight-as-hell rhythm section.
What makes this record truly special is how it balances brutality with melody, creating songs that are both accessible and utterly devastating. Tracks like "Dirty Black Summer" and "Left Hand Black" demonstrate the band's ability to craft hooks that stick in your head for days while never compromising their dark edge. The production is pristine yet retains that raw energy that makes every riff feel like it could level buildings. This is essential listening for anyone who worships at the altar of heavy music.
