Background information about 'Glimpse Of The Dawn'
Tarot have always been the kind of band that treats a riff like a promise and a chorus like a dare, and "Glimpse Of The Dawn" finds them keeping both. This is hard rock with grit under its fingernails — twin guitars trading blows, a rhythm section that pushes rather than plods, and vocals that reach for the rafters without ever losing the dirt in the throat. The songwriting leans on dynamics: a slow burn verse that suddenly opens into a wide, sunlit hook, a bridge that drops to almost nothing before the whole thing comes crashing back. It is the sound of a band who know exactly how long to hold a note and exactly when to let it go.
There is a warmth here that a lot of modern heavy music forgets to pack. The production keeps the low end thick and the cymbals bright, letting the organ and the guitar harmonies breathe next to each other instead of fighting for space. Tracks unfold like small epics — moody intros, galloping mid-sections, and those choruses you will be humming on the walk home from the record shop. It is classic-minded without being a museum piece, reverent to the greats of the genre while still sounding like it was written by people who mean it right now. Tarot understand that the best hard rock is equal parts muscle and melody, and "Glimpse Of The Dawn" delivers both in spades.
