Dying Fetus unleashed a crushing piece of death metal history with this 2011 reissue of "Infatuation With Malevolence". This compilation brings together the band's legendary early demos "Bathe in Entrails" and "Infatuation with Malevolence," along with additional live tracks, creating an essential document of one of the most influential brutal death metal acts ever. Listening to these demos makes it obvious Fetus was great from the start, their music awash in pummeling grooves and memorable riffs. The raw power and technical prowess displayed here showcase why Dying Fetus became such a crucial force in the death metal underground.

The music here is very primitive death metal with plenty of technical touches. The grindcore influences that dominated Dying Fetus' debut full-length aren't as prevalent here, but they are still present. One of the best things about Infatuation With Malevolence is the great musicianship, and, even though Dying Fetus would grow as musicians over time, it's amazing how skillful they were this early in their career. Mandatory listening from the titans of brutal death and progenitors of slam. The compilation also includes three bonus live tracks from Herbolzheim, Germany, plus rare rehearsal and studio demo material that gives fans an intimate look at the band's creative process.
