Background information about 'Day Of Doom Live'

This electrifying live document captures Elephant Tree delivering their signature blend of warm, syrupy fuzz and soaring vocal harmonies at the legendary "Day of Doom" showcase at Brooklyn's Saint Vitus Bar in November 2019. The performance was part of Magnetic Eye Records' first decade celebration, featuring nine roster acts performing back-to-back with the headline sets professionally captured by Chris Johnson, who's worked with Deafheaven and Summoner. The seven-track collection showcases the English quartet's evolution from their 2015 emergence through their acclaimed releases "Theia" and the self-titled album, demonstrating why these became some of the most popular records in the label's catalog.

"Day Of Doom Live" presents Elephant Tree in their element, offering what Metal Injection describes as "gloomy atmosphere with head-bobbing grooves" in a live setting. The setlist spans their career highlights including "Aphotic Blues", "Dawn", and "Wither", plus the bonus studio track "Circles". Following more than five years of delivering their heavy yet melodic sound across the UK, Europe, and the USA, this recording demonstrates the mature expansion of their stylistic range that German Visions magazine praised on their 2020 album "Habits" as "sophisticated" with "unconventional songwriting". The band's musical triangle between stoner, sludge, and doom has grown to incorporate post-metal groove and acoustic folk elements.
