Background information about 'Theia (Anniversary Edition)'

"Theia" stands as Elephant Tree's defining debut statement, a masterclass in modern doom that bridges crushing heaviness with ethereal beauty. Born from the grimy rehearsal spaces of London's back alleys in 2013, this album captures the band's infectious blend of warm, syrupy fuzz and soaring vocal harmonies that immediately set them apart in the doom scene. The anniversary edition preserves every crushing riff and melodic passage that made critics and fans fall in love with this British quartet's unique approach to heavy music.

This special reissue comes with inverted artwork and a treasure trove of rare photos, liner notes, and lyrics that provide fascinating insight into the band's first decade. From the opening moments of what would become "Attack of the Altaica" - originally just bass lines from Jack Townley and Sam Hart's drums - Elephant Tree crafted something truly special that would launch their remarkable journey through the doom underground and beyond.

For fans of: Sleep, Electric Wizard, Windhand, and Monolord
