Entombed have never been a band to play it safe, and Inferno is the sound of that philosophy pushed to its absolute breaking point. Originally unleashed in 2003, this album finds the Swedish legends at their most feral, fusing the gut-punch of death metal with the swaggering, amphetamine-fuelled grit of punk and hardcore. Now, with this remastered edition handled by Magnus Lindberg, the whole thing hits even harder — the low-end is filthier, the guitars bite with renewed fury, and the rhythm section sounds like a collapsing building in the best possible way.

From the opening salvo of "Retaliation", it's clear this isn't just another death metal record — it's a statement. The death 'n' roll DNA that Entombed perfected on Wolverine Blues is still very much alive, but here it's dragged through broken glass and set on fire. Tracks like "The Fix Is In" and "Incinerator" are pure adrenaline, while the doomier passages remind you that these guys can crush you just as effectively at half-speed. LG Petrov's unmistakable roar cuts through the chaos like a rusty blade, and the production by Per Gunnefeldt — now given new life through Lindberg's remaster — retains every ounce of that signature Swedish dirt while adding a density that modern ears will devour. This is Entombed at their most uncompromising, a band refusing to be boxed in by genre expectations and delivering one of the most vicious, groove-laden assaults in their entire catalogue.
