Cult classic Canadian Thrash finally gets the vinyl treatment it has always deserved! ENTROPY rose from the ashes of Aftermath in Brampton, Ontario back in 1989, when Ger Schreinert, Aldo Arbitrante and Steve Maclaren hooked up with guitarist Dan Lauzon through a classified ad in the Toronto Sun before drummer Darren Foster completed the lineup. By 1991 the band was already tracking its first demo at Future Sound Studio, home to legends like Sacrifice and Razor, with a vision to push technical and progressive metal far beyond the usual boundaries.

"Ashen Existence" was tracked at Metalworks in September 1992, and it's a jaw-dropping journey through complex, forward-thinking, Death-tinged Thrash Metal. Arbitrante stunned everyone by taking over the drum kit while Lauzon handled bass duties, and the result is pure alchemy. From razor-sharp melodies to neck-snapping grooves and a wild array of vocal acrobatics, this record is endlessly intriguing and full of unexpected twists. The band was so confident in this material that they destroyed all remaining copies of their demos upon its completion, choosing to self-release rather than sign away their rights. Decades later, fanzines and online forums have kept the flame burning, and now you can finally own this masterpiece on wax.
