Background information about 'Totem'
Faun's 'Totem' is an evocative journey into the realms of neofolk and medieval soundscapes. This album is a reimagining of their fourth studio effort that initially captivated audiences with its adept fusion of traditional folk melodies and contemporary arrangements. The lush instrumentation draws upon ancient instruments such as the hurdy-gurdy and frame drums, weaving a tapestry that feels both timeless and refreshingly modern.
The record's lyrical themes explore nature's mysticism and human introspection, inviting listeners to traverse through sonic landscapes that are at once ethereal and grounded. With compelling tracks like "Rad" and "Zwei Falken," Faun showcases their masterful craftsmanship in blending Germanic folklore with an innovative acoustic palette. This reissue includes the acoustic version of "Zwei Falken" as a bonus track, offering a fresh perspective on one of their most beloved songs.
