Background information about 'Paragon'
Floor Jansen, the powerhouse vocalist known for her commanding presence as the frontwoman of symphonic metal giants Nightwish, steps boldly into solo territory with "Paragon". This deeply personal debut showcases a more intimate and vulnerable side of the Dutch singer, exploring themes of self-discovery, resilience, and inner strength through a surprisingly diverse sonic palette. The album opens with the anthemic "My Paragon", setting the tone for a journey that weaves between soaring rock anthems and delicate, introspective moments that highlight Jansen's incredible vocal range and emotional depth.
What makes "Paragon" particularly compelling is how it balances accessibility with artistic ambition. Tracks like "Invincible" and "Storm" deliver the kind of epic, stadium-ready choruses that showcase why Jansen has become one of metal's most celebrated voices, while quieter moments such as "The Calm" and "Me Without You" reveal a more contemplative artist willing to strip away the orchestral grandeur for something more raw and immediate. The production perfectly complements this dynamic range, allowing each song to breathe while maintaining a cohesive sonic identity that feels both contemporary and timeless.
For fans of: Nightwish, Within Temptation, Epica, Lacuna Coil, and Amaranthe

An amazing album
Although I am a person who basically consumes metal and hardrock, I decided to buy this album backed by the sole fact that its author is who she is. It was like a leap of faith. And I was very surprised, and for the better. It's an incredible album, cohesive, and composed and arranged with great taste. It revolves mostly around the voice, which is what really shines, but with exquisite instrumentation. Themes with a more epic touch where Floor's powerful voice makes itself felt harmonize perfectly with other more intimate ones where the vocalist shows herself in a more subtle and emotional way and moves us. A very hard-working album, with great taste, and that transmits. A safe purchase.
