"Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath" is the fifth chapter in their increasingly unhinged intergalactic fantasy saga, picking up right where 2015's "Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards" left off. This time around, we follow Angus McFife V, Crown Prince of Fife, on a perilous journey through space and time that lands him in the distant future of... 1993. Yes, that's the kind of logic we're dealing with here, and it's absolutely brilliant.
Over eleven tracks, the band flexes more musical muscle than ever before. The classic power metal bombast is still there — those massive, sing-along choruses that burrow into your brain and refuse to leave. But there's so much more happening. Thrash riffs cut through the cosmic din, dynamic synth-rock passages add unexpected textures, and sweeping orchestral arrangements elevate the whole affair to something genuinely cinematic. Produced by the band themselves and mixed by the legendary Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe), this is GLORYHAMMER like you've never heard them — tighter, heavier, and even more ridiculously entertaining. The songwriting remains unmistakably theirs, but the palette has expanded dramatically.
