There are bands that make heavy music, and then there is Godflesh — a unit that doesn't so much perform heaviness as excavate it from some industrial abyss and drag it, wheezing, into the light. Decay arrives as another slab of that signature grind: bass lines thick enough to crack concrete, drum machines that hit with the cold precision of a factory press, and Justin Broadrick's voice buried somewhere beneath it all, half-human, half-machinery.
What makes Decay so gripping is how much space it leaves inside the weight.
