Background information about 'Misotheism'
Gorath unleashes a torrent of misanthropic fury with "Misotheism", a devastating exploration of hatred toward divinity that cuts through the black metal underground like a serrated blade. This Belgian outfit crafts their blasphemous vision with surgical precision, weaving together tremolo-picked melodies that dance between despair and rage, while blast beats pummel listeners into submission. The production maintains that raw, unpolished edge that makes black metal so viscerally powerful, yet every riff cuts through with crystalline clarity.
The album's thematic focus on religious hatred and divine rejection resonates through every track, with Gorath delivering their message through a combination of shrieked vocals and atmospheric interludes that build tension before exploding into full-scale sonic warfare. The included 7" adds extra value to this release, showcasing additional material that complements the main album's nihilistic worldview. This isn't just another black metal release – it's a statement of intent from a band that understands the genre's philosophical underpinnings as much as its musical requirements.
