Initiates Of The White Hart builds with an almost ceremonial patience before erupting into a maelstrom of double-kick fury and Nathan Weaver's unmistakable howl — a voice that sounds less like a human being and more like the earth itself splitting open. And then comes Crown Of Stone, a track that closes the EP on a note of absolute, crushing majesty. The riffs here are monolithic, almost doom-laden in their weight, yet still carrying that unmistakable melodic DNA that makes Wolves In The Throne Room so much more than just another black metal band. This is music that feels rooted in soil and stone, in old-growth forests and the endless cycle of decay and rebirth.
