Background information about 'As Rapture Comes (Re-Issue)'
Grave's "As Rapture Comes" stands as a monumental testament to Swedish death metal mastery, showcasing the band's relentless pursuit of sonic brutality and atmospheric darkness. This re-issue brings back one of the genre's most compelling works, where Grave demonstrates their ability to blend crushing heaviness with haunting melodies that stick with you long after the final notes fade. The album opens with the ominous "Intro - Day Of Reckoning", setting a foreboding tone that carries throughout tracks like "Burn" and "Through Eternity", where the band's signature guitar work creates walls of distorted magnificence.
The second half of the album maintains this intensity with standout tracks like "Battle Of Eden" and "Epic Obliteration", proving that Grave knows how to craft songs that are both technically impressive and emotionally devastating. The inclusion of "Them Bones" adds an interesting dynamic to the flow, while the title track "As Rapture Comes" serves as a perfect culmination of everything the band represents - pure, unfiltered death metal excellence that doesn't compromise on atmosphere or aggression.
