HATEBREED · Fatal Paradox | BLACK LP

Black vinyl in gatefold sleeve.

Background information about 'Fatal Paradox'

Let's cut straight to it — Hatebreed are not here to reinvent the wheel. They're here to snap it off its axle and beat you over the head with it. Fatal Paradox, the latest slab of pure Connecticut-bred fury from these Grammy-nominated hardcore titans, is everything you want from a band that helped define an entire genre and then spent three decades perfecting it. No gimmicks, no ballads, no apologies.

From the moment the needle drops on the opener "Kill Count Increase," you know exactly where you stand — in the pit, fists up, throat raw. Jamey Jasta's voice remains one of the most commanding in heavy music, a bulldozer of righteous anger and motivational fury that somehow makes you want to both destroy everything and become a better version of yourself. The riffs on tracks like "The Carrion Choir" and "Total Invincible" are pure, distilled Hatebreed: chugging, pit-opening grooves that feel like a freight train made of concrete. And when John Tardy of Obituary shows up on "Sacrifice Season," the death metal crossover moment hits like a ton of bricks — two legends of American heaviness colliding in the best possible way. The production is massive, crisp enough to let every breakdown breathe but raw enough to remind you this is still hardcore at its core. The Corrosion of Conformity cover "Poison Planet" closes things out with a nod to the past that feels entirely earned. This is a band that knows exactly who they are, and Fatal Paradox proves they're still operating at peak power — no signs of slowing, no signs of mellowing, just ten tracks of pure, unrelenting metallic hardcore.
