Background information about 'Abigail'

"Abigail" represents a quintessential piece of heavy metal storytelling, delivered with the unforgettable theatrical flair characteristic of King Diamond. Originally released in 1987 and reissued in 2020 by Metal Blade Records, this album stands as a monumental concept piece narrating a gripping tale of horror and suspense, intertwined with complex keyboard layering and piercing vocals. The musicianship is top-notch, featuring precise guitar work and a rhythm section that underpins the eerie and dramatic atmosphere. It is widely regarded as a classic in the metal community and continues to captivate fans with its immersive narrative and dynamic compositions.

The production quality on this reissue benefits from meticulous remastering and pressing onto heavyweight 180g vinyl that ensures superior sound fidelity. Alongside the album's brooding themes and intricate storytelling, the artwork and packaging elements, including a lyric insert and poly-lined inner sleeve, enrich the collector's experience. This album resonates profoundly for those who appreciate heavy metal's ability to fuse narrative depth with musical complexity, making "Abigail" an essential addition to any dedicated vinyl collection.
