Background information about 'Abigail'
When King Diamond unleashed "Abigail" upon the world in 1987, he didn't just release an album – he crafted a spine-chilling masterpiece that would define horror metal forever. This conceptual tour de force tells the haunting tale of a cursed mansion, a malevolent spirit of a stillborn child, and the doomed family who dares to call it home. From the funeral bells that open the album to the thunderous hooves of the "Black Horsemen", every track drips with theatrical menace and supernatural dread.
The Danish maestro's falsetto vocals soar through gothic corridors while the razor-sharp riffing cuts through the darkness like a blade. Songs like "A Mansion In Darkness" and "The Family Ghost" showcase Diamond's genius for weaving narrative and music into one terrifying whole. The production captures every whispered threat and explosive crescendo, making this reissue on pristine white vinyl an essential addition to any metalhead's collection.
