Background information about 'Abigail II: The Revenge'
The twisted tale continues! King Diamond's "Abigail II: The Revenge" stands as one of horror metal's most chilling sequels, picking up the blood-soaked threads from the legendary 1987 concept album "Abigail". This isn't just another album – it's a theatrical masterpiece where the malevolent spirit of Abigail returns with vengeance coursing through her spectral veins. The Danish master of macabre storytelling delivers his trademark falsetto screams alongside bone-chilling narrative passages that'll have you checking over your shoulder.
Andy LaRocque's guitar work cuts through the darkness like a scythe, weaving intricate melodies that dance between beauty and brutality. Every track builds the atmospheric tension, from the haunting "Mansion In Sorrow" to the spine-tingling finale "Sorry Dear". This is concept album mastery at its finest – where each song serves the greater horror narrative while standing strong on its own merits. The production captures every whispered threat and thunderous riff with crystal clarity, making this essential listening for anyone who appreciates metal's theatrical side.
