Background information about 'Guillotine'
HateSphere have never been a band to tiptoe around a good riff, and "Guillotine" lands like a blade coming down hard. The Danish thrashers have spent decades sharpening their attack, and this record finds them in ferocious form: riffs that snap and bite, drums that hammer forward without mercy, and a vocal delivery that sounds like it was dragged up from somewhere genuinely unpleasant. There is a real sense of craft here, the kind that only comes from a group who have been trading in this sound for years and know exactly where the pressure points are.
What makes "Guillotine" land is the balance between pure aggression and actual songwriting. Tracks build and release with intent rather than just piling on speed for its own sake, and the guitar work carries genuine hooks underneath all the grit. It is the sound of a veteran outfit refusing to coast, still hungry, still sharpening the edge. Thrash this committed does not come around often, and when it does it deserves to be played loud, ideally on wax that looks as striking as it sounds.
