Background information about 'Black Flame in Cosmic Void'

Hexer don't knock politely. They kick the door in, trailing smoke and cinders, and "Black Flame in Cosmic Void" burns exactly the way that image promises — a short, sharp burst of blackened fury that wastes not a single second of its runtime. This is the kind of EP that reminds you why the format still matters: no filler, no padding, just a band locking into a groove and refusing to let go. The riffs arrive thick and tar-black, the drums push everything forward with a relentless, almost tribal momentum, and somewhere underneath it all there's a cold, cosmic dread that keeps the whole thing from ever feeling merely loud.

What really sells it is the atmosphere. There's a ritualistic quality to the way these tracks unfold — chanted passages, cavernous reverb, guitars that seem to be scraping against the walls of some vast, empty cathedral. It's heavy, sure, but it's heavy with intent, and that's a rare thing. The production keeps the low end filthy without ever turning to mush, so every tremolo line and every cymbal crash lands with real weight. You can practically smell the incense and the sweat.

And then there's the physical object itself: a one-sided 12" with a picture disc on the flip, pressed in a run of just 300. For collectors who care about the artifact as much as the sound, that's a genuinely lovely thing to hold. It's a statement record from a band clearly in love with the darker corners of the genre — and honestly, it's hard not to get swept up in it.
