Background information about 'Iffernet'

Iffernet delivers a crushing debut that stands as one of the most compelling entries in atmospheric black metal's recent evolution. This self-titled opus weaves together six tracks of devastating beauty, where each composition serves as a chapter in a larger narrative of existential dread and cosmic horror. The opening "The Tales Of Things To Sink" sets the tone with its haunting melodies that gradually build into walls of tremolo-picked fury, while "Black Flood" showcases the band's ability to balance raw aggression with moments of ethereal calm.

The album's second half proves even more captivating, with "Crushing Void" serving as the emotional centerpiece – a seven-minute journey through despair and transcendence that demonstrates Iffernet's mastery of dynamics. The closing "Far Quest For A Dead End" leaves listeners in a state of cathartic exhaustion, its final notes echoing long after the needle lifts. What sets this release apart is the band's understanding that true atmospheric black metal isn't just about creating darkness – it's about finding light within that darkness, then extinguishing it completely.
