Background information about 'Disclosure Vol 1'
Disclosure Vol 1 arrives like a transmission from a basement studio that never quite lost the smell of hot tubes and spilled coffee. Jason Walker's Gravity Amplifiers deal in the kind of heavy rock that knows the value of a groove — riffs that swagger instead of simply crush, a low end that rolls forward like weather coming in off the hills. There is grit here, sure, but it is the good kind: the sound of a band playing together in one room, chasing a take rather than a click track. Vocals sit somewhere between a sermon and a shrug, and the rhythm section keeps everything grounded while the guitars reach for something bigger.
What makes this record stick is its patience. Nothing is rushed, nothing is padded. Tracks breathe, then bite. The production keeps a warm, analogue glow around the whole thing, so even the heaviest moments feel lived-in rather than clinical — you can almost hear the room. It is a debut that sounds like a band already three albums deep, confident enough to let a riff ride and smart enough to know when to pull the rug out. Whether you file it under stoner, heavy psych or plain old loud rock, it lands with the easy authority of people who have done their homework and then thrown the notebook away.
