After a decade-long hiatus, Khanate returns with "To Be Cruel", a monumental statement that proves their mastery of glacial doom remains unmatched. The trio of Stephen O'Malley, Tim Wyskida, and Alan Dubin deliver three sprawling compositions that stretch time itself, each track exceeding 19 minutes of pure sonic devastation.

"Like A Poisoned Dog" opens with characteristic restraint before building into a suffocating wall of feedback and Dubin's tortured vocals. "It Wants To Fly" pushes boundaries even further, creating an atmosphere so dense you can practically taste the despair. The title track "To Be Cruel" serves as both culmination and statement of intent – this is doom metal stripped to its absolute essence, where every note carries the weight of eternity. The production captures every subtle nuance, from the barely audible string vibrations to the crushing crescendos that feel like tectonic plates shifting.
