Background information about 'The Graveyard'
Horror metal royalty King Diamond delivers one of his most chilling conceptual masterpieces with "The Graveyard", a sinister tale that weaves together corruption, madness, and supernatural revenge. This 1996 release showcases the Danish maestro at his storytelling peak, crafting an intricate narrative around a corrupt mayor, his daughter Lucy, and an asylum escapee seeking vengeance. The album's theatrical atmosphere builds through dual vocal performances and haunting melodies that have become synonymous with King Diamond's legacy.
From the opening title track to the devastating finale of "Lucy Forever", every moment pulses with dark energy and meticulous composition. Tracks like "Black Hill Sanitarium" and "Digging Graves" demonstrate the band's ability to blend crushing heaviness with melodic sophistication, while the storytelling reaches fever pitch through King's signature falsetto and menacing growls. This white vinyl reissue captures every nuance of the original production, making it essential for both longtime devotees and newcomers to the King Diamond mythology.
