Background information about 'Rue Octavio Mey / Fleur des Murailles'
This enchanting release captures Les Discrets at their most intimate and atmospheric, presenting two deeply personal compositions that showcase the French project's ability to weave melancholy and beauty into captivating sonic tapestries. "Rue Octavio Mey" and "Fleur Des Murailles" stand as testament to Fursy Teyssier's vision of creating music that feels like walking through forgotten streets at twilight, where every shadow holds a memory and every breeze carries whispers of the past. The songs drift between post-rock sensibilities and shoegaze textures, creating an almost cinematic experience that feels both nostalgic and timeless.
The inclusion of a live version of "Rue Octavio Mey" from Prophecy Fest adds another dimension to this collection, showing how these delicate compositions translate into the live setting while maintaining their ethereal quality. The demo version of "Fleur Des Murailles" offers fascinating insight into the creative process, revealing the raw emotional core that drives these beautiful pieces. It's a perfect snapshot of a band that has mastered the art of turning introspection into something universally moving, where gentle guitar work and atmospheric arrangements create spaces for contemplation and emotional release.
