The album absolutely rips from the opening blast of "To Die Is At Hand" through the crushing finale of *"Scattered Flesh."*Break-neck riffing, elbow-swinging grooves, and lyrics about decapitation make this guilt-free death metal fun. But here's where it gets interesting -the title track features keyboards, while "Day of Lamentation" throws in acoustic guitar sections with growling on top.That acoustic-driven track creates a genuinely mournful atmosphere that's rare for Malevolent Creation, making it a captivating highlight. Sure,most of the material is Malevolent Creation by the numbers, but when those numbers includepunishing tracks like "Rictus Surreal," "Scorn," and "Instinct Evolved", who's complaining?
