Background information about 'Personal Computer'
Personal Computer is Master Boot Record doing what they do best: turning cold silicon into pure adrenaline. The anonymous Italian project has spent years perfecting a very specific kind of madness, and here the concept is razor sharp — every track is named after a legendary CPU, from the humble 8086 all the way up to the 80686. It sounds like a gimmick on paper. On wax, it is a full-blown obsession.
The guitars are the real weapon. Shredding leads fly over baroque synth arpeggios and drum programming that hits like a machine gun, equal parts chiptune nostalgia and neoclassical shred worship. It is fast, it is ridiculous, and it is absolutely glorious — the kind of record that makes you grin while your neck gives out. Crank the opener and try not to air-guitar. Impossible.
