Background information about 'Liturgy Of Death'

Forty years of black metal history, Mayhem unleash "Liturgy Of Death" – a merciless testament to their position as Norwegian black metal's most uncompromising force. This isn't just another album; it's a ritual of extremity that pushes the boundaries of darkness further than ever before. From the opening chaos of "Ephemeral Eternity" to the crushing finality of "The Sentence Of Absolution", every track drags you deeper into a meditation on mortality itself.

The album burns with a ferocity that makes their recent catalog seem tame by comparison. "Despair" and "Funeral Of Existence" deliver relentless brutality, while "Aeon's End" and "Propitious Death" weave atmospheric dread into their sonic assault. With Necrobutcher, Hellhammer, Attila, Teloch, and Ghul locked into their tightest formation yet, Mayhem prove they're not content to coast on legacy – they're here to redefine what extreme metal can be. This is black metal at its most dangerous and vital.
