Black vinyl in gatefold cover.

Background information about 'Ordo Ad Chao'

Mayhem's "Ordo Ad Chao" stands as a formidable testament to the band's enduring legacy in the realm of black metal. Released initially in 2007 and reissued on vinyl in 2018 by Season Of Mist, this album captures the raw and chaotic essence that defines the genre. The production is intentionally lo-fi, invoking an atmosphere that feels both primal and sophisticated. Attila Csihar's vocals are hauntingly versatile, ranging from guttural growls to ethereal whispers, perfectly complementing the intricate guitar work of Blasphemer and Hellhammer's relentless drumming.

Conceptually dark and musically complex, "Ordo Ad Chao" explores themes of entropy and existential despair. The tracks are meticulously crafted to weave a sonic tapestry that is both abrasive and immersive. From the opening track "A Wise Birthgiver" to the closing anthem "Anti," each piece contributes to a cohesive narrative of chaos versus order. This reissue on black vinyl offers enthusiasts a chance to experience its unyielding power once again.
