Background information about 'Malice'
Gehenna unleashes their malevolent masterpiece "Malice" with the fury of Norwegian black metal at its most uncompromising. This third pressing of their seminal 1996 album captures the band's transition from their earlier atmospheric works to a more direct, razor-sharp assault that would define their legacy. The album showcases Gehenna's ability to weave melodic darkness with brutal intensity, creating compositions that are both haunting and devastatingly heavy.
The production on "Malice" strikes the perfect balance between raw aggression and clarity, allowing every tremolo-picked melody and blast beat to cut through with surgical precision. Tracks like "She Who Loves The Flames" and the title track "Malice" demonstrate the band's mastery of creating atmosphere while maintaining the ferocious energy that black metal demands. This reissue comes with exceptional presentation - housed in a gatefold sleeve with stunning artwork, accompanied by an A2 poster and a comprehensive 20-page booklet that delves deep into the album's creation and legacy.
