Background information about 'Extreme Cold Weather (Re-Issue 2014)'
In the realm of thrash metal's storied history lies Messiah's "Extreme Cold Weather", an album that bridges the gap between raw intensity and thematic depth. Released originally in 1987 and hailing from Switzerland's burgeoning metal scene, this record stands as a testament to the genre's relentless evolution. From its chillingly apt title track to the biting commentary on figures like Pope John Paul II and Mother Theresa through songs like "Johannes Paul Der Letzte" and "Mother Theresa", Messiah doesn't just play music; they craft narratives that challenge societal norms.
The reissue of "Extreme Cold Weather" by High Roller Records brings this masterpiece back into the spotlight with exceptional fidelity. Remastered specifically for vinyl by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony in 2014, it retains the gritty authenticity of its original release while offering audiophiles a superior listening experience. Coupled with a sturdy package featuring meticulously designed layouts by André Tueroff and limited availability at only 500 copies worldwide, this edition is not just an album but a collector's dream.
