Background information about 'The 5th Sun'
Swiss powerhouse Monkey3 delivers an absolutely crushing sonic journey with "The 5th Sun", a record that perfectly captures the essence of modern stoner rock while pushing boundaries into uncharted psychedelic territories. This album is a masterclass in heavy groove construction, where thunderous riffs meet atmospheric passages in the most captivating way possible. From the soaring opener "Icarus" to the hypnotic rhythms of "Circles", every track showcases the band's incredible ability to craft songs that are both monumentally heavy and surprisingly melodic.
What makes "The 5th Sun" truly special is how Monkey3 manages to create this massive wall of sound without sacrificing clarity or emotional depth. The production is absolutely pristine, allowing every crushing guitar tone and pounding drum hit to breathe while maintaining that essential stoner rock warmth. Tracks like "Birth Of Venus" and "Once We Were…" demonstrate the band's knack for building tension and releasing it in the most satisfying ways, creating moments that will have you reaching for the volume knob again and again.
