More about 'Origin Of Extinction [Ltd.2-LP]'

Holy hell, this is what proper thrash should sound like! Mortillery absolutely nailed it with "Origin Of Extinction", their sophomore effort that takes everything killer about their debut and cranks it up to eleven.Released on February 22nd, 2013 via Napalm Records, this Canadian thrash machine deliversten tracks that rarely stop for breath, launching full-steam ahead, sinking its teeth into the jugularwith the kind of relentless energy that makes you wanna throw on your battle vest and start a pit in your living room.

What really sets this album apart is Cara McCutchen's absolutely ferocious vocal performance -she displays bigger balls than a majority of current male thrash metal frontmenand her range is just insane. She can sing and scream much like Mark Osegueda (Death Angel), shout and roar, and when she screams "I don't give a fuck" on "F.O.A.D.", you absolutely believe every word. The guitar work from Alex Scott and Alex Guitierrez is equally devastating, weaving betweenSlayer, D.R.I., and Death Angel influences, with significant nods to early Overkill and Wargasm. Tracks like "Cease To Exist" and "Sunday Morning Slasher" showcase their ability to blend crossover thrash with melodic elements without losing any of that raw aggression. They sound considerably more mature, polished and focused than they did on the debut, with song structures that are more thought out and dynamics that are more varied.

For fans of:
Death Angel, Slayer, D.R.I., Overkill, Wargasm, and The Accüsed
