There are moments in metal history when a band appears at exactly the right time to remind everyone what real filth sounds like. Murder Squad was exactly that kind of band. Born from the rotten guts of the Swedish death metal scene in the early 2000s, this supergroup featuring members of ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER and MERCILESS came together with one mission: to bring back the dirt, the danger, and the sheer fucking sickness that the genre had been missing. And boy, did they deliver.

This 7" EP, originally released in 2013 and now made available again through Darkness Shall Rise Productions, is a pure slab of worship. Both tracks - "Human Genocide" and "Blackness Within" - are covers of the legendary AUTOPSY, recorded during the sessions for Murder Squad's second full-length. And you can hear it: this is not some half-assed tribute. This is four guys who LIVED and BREATHED Autopsy's rotting corpse sound, channeling it through their own Swedish death metal fury. The result is absolutely crushing. The cover artwork, a stunning piece by the late Timo Ketola, perfectly captures the grim atmosphere of these two tracks.

If you're into old-school death metal that doesn't give a single fuck about being polished or trendy, this is your fix. Raw, ugly, and utterly essential.
