Background information about 'Science, Not Fiction'
Orange Goblin returns with their ninth studio album "Science, Not Fiction", delivering another crushing dose of their signature stoner metal mastery. The British quartet continues to evolve their sound while staying true to their heavy rock roots, blending thunderous riffs with infectious grooves that'll have you banging your head from the opening track. Songs like "The Fire At The Centre Of The Earth Is Mine" showcase the band's ability to craft epic, driving anthems, while tracks such as "Ascend The Negative" demonstrate their knack for weaving complex arrangements without losing that raw, visceral punch that's made them legends in the underground scene.
What really stands out on "Science, Not Fiction" is how Orange Goblin manages to balance their trademark heaviness with moments of surprising melody and dynamics. The album flows seamlessly from the crushing weight of "Eye Of The Minotaur" to the more experimental territories explored in "Gemini (Twins Of Evil)", proving that after decades in the game, these guys still have plenty of tricks up their sleeves. The production captures every nuance of their performance, from the bone-rattling bass lines to the soaring guitar work that's become their calling card.
