Background information about 'Forever Gone'
Wino delivers a deeply personal and haunting collection with "Forever Gone", showcasing the legendary doom metal pioneer's most introspective songwriting to date. The album weaves together themes of loss, redemption, and the passage of time with Scott "Wino" Weinrich's signature gravelly vocals floating over crushing yet melodic compositions. Tracks like "The Song Is At The Bottom Of The Bottle" and "Dark Ravine" demonstrate his ability to craft heavy, emotionally resonant pieces that hit as hard spiritually as they do sonically.
The eleven-song journey explores both the darkness and light within the human experience, with standout moments including the ethereal "Crystal Madonna" and the closing epic "Isolation". Wino's guitar work remains as compelling as ever, balancing crushing riffs with moments of surprising beauty and restraint. This is an album that rewards deep listening, revealing new layers of meaning with each spin while maintaining the raw power that has made him a revered figure in heavy music circles.
