Background information about 'Songs To Sun'

Ukrainian stoner legends Stoned Jesus return with "Songs To Sun", the opening chapter of their ambitious trilogy that showcases the band's evolution into even more expansive creative territories. After celebrating their 15th anniversary and navigating lineup changes, frontman Igor Sydorenko has crafted an album that spans all the different phases of the band's journey while pushing into uncharted sonic landscapes. The massive opener builds slowly like a desert sunrise before erupting into heavy psychedelic grooves, while lead single "Shadowland" delivers their catchiest riff since "Here Come the Robots", complete with gloomy keys and a thrilling closing sprint.

An existential shadow looms over the album, reflecting the unstable ground Sydorenko navigated as the previous lineup dissolved. Songs like "Low" break new ground with blast beats - a first for the band - while the deeply personal closer "Quicksand" strips away preconceptions in preparation for the darker phases ahead. Throughout, Stoned Jesus blend their trademark stoner doom with progressive rock elements, folk influences, and alternative touches that have made them true trailblazers in the scene. The album sets their heavy progressive rock to stun, proving that even amidst personal turmoil and change, innovation remains their guiding spirit.
