Background information about 'W.F.O.'
Overkill unleashed pure sonic mayhem with "W.F.O." back in 1994, and this reissue proves that some albums just get better with age! This is thrash metal at its most uncompromising – a relentless assault of razor-sharp riffs, thunderous rhythms, and Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth's unmistakable vocal fury. From the opening salvo of "Where It Hurts" to the closing chaos of "Gasoline Dream", every track hits like a sledgehammer to the skull.
What makes this album truly special is how Overkill managed to evolve their sound while staying true to their thrash roots. The production is crisp enough to catch every nuance of D.D. Verni's bass lines and the twin guitar attack, yet maintains that raw edge that made them legends of the East Coast thrash scene. Tracks like "Fast Junkie" and "Supersonic Hate" showcase the band's ability to blend crushing heaviness with infectious grooves that'll have you throwing horns in the air.
