Background information about 'Coming Up To Consciousness'
Pure Reason Revolution returns with their most compelling statement yet on "Coming Up To Consciousness", an album that showcases the British progressive rock outfit at their absolute peak. The eight-track journey kicks off with the thunderous "Dig Till You Die" and weaves through a sonic landscape that's both deeply introspective and explosively dynamic. Jon Courtney and Chloe Alper's dual vocal approach creates an ethereal yet grounded atmosphere, while tracks like "The Gallows" and "Worship" demonstrate the band's mastery of building tension through layered instrumentation and haunting melodies.
What makes this release particularly special is how Pure Reason Revolution balances their trademark atmospheric passages with moments of genuine heaviness. The closing epic "As We Disappear" serves as a perfect bookend, bringing together all the elements that make this band so captivating - from delicate harmonies to crushing crescendos. The inclusion of a 5.1 surround sound DVD adds another dimension to the experience, allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in the band's carefully crafted sonic architecture.
For fans of: Porcupine Tree, The Mars Volta, Tool, and Steven Wilson
