Background information about 'Tetradōm'
Quadvium delivers a mind-bending sonic odyssey with "Tetradōm", an album that pushes the boundaries of progressive metal into uncharted experimental territories. The band crafts an intricate tapestry of sound that weaves together crushing progressive metal riffs with avant-garde elements and experimental flourishes. Tracks like "Moksha" and "Náströnd" showcase the group's ability to balance technical prowess with atmospheric depth, creating compositions that are both intellectually challenging and emotionally resonant.
The album's seven tracks take listeners on a journey through complex musical landscapes, where traditional metal structures are deconstructed and rebuilt with innovative approaches. With contributions from renowned musicians like Jeroen Paul Thesseling and Steve DiGiorgio on bass, plus Yuma van Eekelen behind the kit, the rhythm section provides a rock-solid foundation for the experimental guitar work and sound design. The production by Eve Smith captures every nuance of this ambitious project, allowing each experimental element to breathe while maintaining the crushing impact of the heavier passages.
