Background information about 'II'
Sahg's sophomore effort, "II", emerges from the shadowy realms of Doom Metal with a profound resonance that echoes through the ages. Released in 2008, this album is an epitome of sonic craftsmanship where each track is a journey through dark themes and heavy riffs. The Norwegian quartet delves deep, intertwining elements of psychedelic rock and classic metal to create a soundscape that's both timeless and distinctly their own. Lyrically rich and musically intricate, "II" is more than just an album; it is a testament to Sahg's commitment to their craft.
The album opens with "Ascent To Decadence," setting the tone for what follows—a tapestry woven with haunting melodies and powerful vocals. Tracks like "Echoes Ring Forever" and "From Conscious Sleep" showcase the band's ability to balance intensity with introspection. Each song builds upon the last, culminating in the epic finale "Monomania", which stands as a masterpiece of composition and lyrical depth. Mixed at Millbrook Sound Studio in New York, Sahg has ensured that every note resonates with clarity and power.
