Background information about 'Fonix'
There are albums that creep up on you, and then there are records like "Fonix" that simply grab you by the throat from the very first note. SALIGIA, the enigmatic black metal entity, returns with a work that feels less like a collection of songs and more like a ritualistic descent into the elemental forces of fire, revelation, the abyss, and the voice of hidden darkness itself.
The five tracks on "Fonix" are a masterclass in atmosphere and intensity. From the opener "Fire: Tear Apart The Veil" to the closing title track, the band weaves a tapestry of blistering riffs, thunderous drumming, and vocals that sound like they're being torn from some deep, primordial wound. But what sets SALIGIA apart is their ability to balance sheer aggression with moments of haunting, almost melancholic beauty. There's a dynamic range here that keeps you on edge — just when you think you've found your footing, the ground shifts beneath you. The production is raw enough to retain the genre's essential grit, yet clear enough to let every intricate detail shine through. This is black metal that breathes, that bleeds, that burns.
