Background information about 'Aeons Of Satan´s Reign'

Some records don't knock politely. Satan's Wrath kick the door off its hinges and set the frame on fire, and "Aeons Of Satan's Reign" is exactly that kind of arrival — a debut that sounds less like a first attempt and more like a band who have been sharpening blades in a cellar for a decade. The riffs come fast and filthy, the drums hammer away like a war drum battery, and the whole thing drips with that classic first-wave menace filtered through a modern, razor-tight production. It's nasty, it's catchy, and it refuses to apologise for either.

What makes this one stick is the songwriting. "Only Satan Is Lord" opens with a statement of intent, all galloping tremolo and snarled venom, before "Die White Witch Die" and "Archfiend" prove these folks know how to write a hook you'll be humming while feeling slightly guilty about it. "Ecstasies Of Sorcery" slows the pace just enough to let the atmosphere curdle, and the closing title track stretches past the eight-minute mark, building and building until it collapses in a glorious heap of flame. There's no filler here, no padding, just eight tracks of blackened steel played with total conviction. If you like your metal mean, melodic and unrepentantly theatrical, this is your new obsession.
