Background information about 'Flawless Intrigue from Hell'
Skumstrike return with a vengeance. Flawless Intrigue from Hell is the sound of a band hitting the gas and never letting go. Hailing from Montreal, this Canadian power-trio has crafted a ten-track beast that marries the breakneck frenzy of Japanese speed metal with the raw, gunpowder-soaked aggression of early thrash and death metal. Think the unhinged fury of Sabbat (Japan) meets the reckless abandon of early Slayer and Bathory — and you're getting close.
Recorded by Spectral Wound's Patrick McDowell right after Skumstrike's first European tour, this album captures the band at their most dangerous. It's not all redline speed though — there are slower, venomous dirges that hit just as hard. The whole thing is topped off with a maniacal cover of Abigail's Satanik Metal Fucking Hell and wrapped in Chris Kiesling's (Misanthropic-Art) skeletal, possessed artwork. Pure energy, pure violence, pure metal mayhem.
For fans of: Sabbat (Japan), early Slayer, Bathory, Abigail, Mortuary Drape
